Printing a blank practice chart

Leave Practice mode switched on (it's already on by default on this page) and press Print / Save as PDF. The printed page shows the full grid with row and column headers, but every product cell is left empty, exactly like a standard blank multiplication worksheet. That makes it useful for timed practice sheets, homework, or just checking recall by filling in the whole chart from memory before checking it against the interactive version above.

Printing a filled reference chart

Switch Practice mode off and every product fills back in, so the printed page becomes a complete reference chart instead, the kind that's often taped inside the front cover of a notebook or pinned to a wall. Pick 10×10 or 12×12 for something that reads comfortably on a single sheet, or go up to 15×15 or 20×20 for a bigger reference table (a larger chart may print smaller per cell or span more than one page depending on your printer's paper size and margins).

Highlighting before you print

Any highlights you've added with the color palette print along with the chart. That means you can, for example, highlight the 6, 7, 8, and 9 times tables in different colors before printing, producing a study sheet that draws attention to the specific facts a student is still working on, rather than a plain, undifferentiated grid. Add the highlights, confirm they look right on screen, then print.

Why a live tool instead of a downloadable PDF

Most printable multiplication chart pages offer a small, fixed set of pre-made PDF files: usually a standard 12×12, a color version, and a blank version, each a separate download. The tool above produces the same end result, a clean page ready for your printer, but the size, the filled-or-blank state, and any highlighting are all chosen on the spot rather than picked from a short list of pre-made files. Printing tips

Check "Background graphics" in your browser's print dialog if any highlight colors you've added look faded or missing in the preview; some browsers hide background colors by default to save ink unless that option is turned on.
Use landscape orientation for a 15×15 or 20×20 chart if it looks cramped in portrait, since a wider grid generally fits better sideways on a standard sheet.
Preview before printing to check the chart fits on a single page at your chosen size; if it's split across two pages, try a smaller size or landscape orientation instead.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to download a PDF to print this chart?

No. Press Print / Save as PDF and use your browser's own print dialog, which on most phones, tablets, and computers includes a "Save as PDF" destination if you want a file instead of a paper printout. There's no separate download step.

How do I get a completely blank chart with no numbers at all?

Practice mode is already turned on by default on this page, which hides every product in the grid. Just pick a size and print without clicking any cells first (clicking a cell in Practice mode reveals just that one number, so leave the grid untouched if you want it fully blank).

Can I print a specific times table instead of the whole grid?

Not as a separate, cropped printout, but you can highlight a single row or column (a single times table) in a bright color before printing, which makes that table stand out clearly on the full printed grid without hiding the rest of the chart.

Why is part of my chart missing when I print it?

A large chart (15x15 or 20x20) can be wider than a single portrait page at your printer's default margins. Try switching your printer's page orientation to landscape, or choose a smaller size (10x10 or 12x12) before printing.

Does this work the same as the main chart page?

Yes, it's the exact same interactive tool. This page simply starts in Practice mode by default, since most visitors here are looking to print a blank practice sheet; every feature, including size, color highlighting, and normal (non-blank) mode, works identically to the chart on the homepage.
